Open Session – BDPA (INDIA) – 04.04.2019

The Open Session of BDPA (INDIA) was held on 04.04.2019 at 16.00 hours in “Marthoma Camp Centre Conference Hall” Thiruvalla – Kerala under the Presidentship of Shri M.R. Vashist.

Shri Thomas John K, GS Reception Committee gave warm welcome to all guests, delegates and observers and said all possible arrangements have been made for comfortable stay of all. Due to recent flood in Kerala, there were certain retrain but Kerala Circle has made all attempt to make the Conference a Grand and Glorious success.

Two minutes silence was paid to pay tribute to all who expired during this period and also martyrs of Pulwama attack.

Shri P.J. Kurian, Ex-dy. Chairman Ratya Sabha inaugurated the Conference and delivered his key-note address assuring that he is with the BSNL Pensioners for their Pension Revision w.e.f. 01.01.2017 and extend all possible help to settle the issue.

“BSNL Pensioners Telephone Directory 2019 – cum –Hand Book” 5th Edition containing more than 700 pages with useful information for BSNL Pensioners was released by Shri K. Vallinayagam, Ex-GS NUBWNLW  (FNTO). He  appreciated the efforts made by GS for undertaking such herculean task.

Shri D.D. Balasubramaniam, General Secretary, All India Federations of Pensioners Association, Chennai also spoke. He conveyed greeting on behalf of Shri S.C. Maheshwari, SG Bharat Pensioner Samaj, New Delhi who could not come due to health issue. He appreciated work done by the BDPA (INDIA) in perusing the cases of BSNL Pensioners and said that unanimity of the demand for BSNL Pensioners Pension Revision w.e.f. 01.01.2019 is prime issue and all the Pensioners Associations have to move with single concept.

Shri N.R. Hegde, Vice President, INTUC, Karnataka Circle lauded the work done under the present leadership of Shri D.D. Mistry to united BSNL Pensioners and expanding horizons virtually throughout the country.

Shri H.R. Gupta, Vice President spoke elaborately on the pending issue arising out of implementation of 7th CPC and non implementation by BSNL. He spoke on negative attitude of the CCA J&K.

Shri D. Chandrasekharan, Vice President stressed on need of representing our pending cases to DoT strongly and pointed our pending irritating issues and adoption of resolutions on our demands.

Shri D.D. Mistry, GS deliberated on pending irritating issues of BSNL Pensioners. He said that BSNL Pensioners Pension revision w.e.f. 01.01.2017 is due and will be achieved after formation of New Government after Election. He also spoke on issue of Pension revision which is inordinately delayed and also said that ego problem the Unions/Associations and the Government Machinery has delayed the settlement of Wage Revision. On the issue of Medical Allowance he said that a Review if need of hour to revamp the Medical Reimbursement Policy. On the pending issue of Arrear due to revision of Pension w.e.f. 01.01.2007 but its actual effect from 10.06.2013, he said that there are multiple court cases and non unanimity of representing is cause of delay in getting justice. He assured that BDPA (INDIA) will make all efforts to solve all the Pending issues with collective leadership.

Shri M.R. Vashist All India President gave his concluding speech and stress on need of Accommodation in New Delhi and assured all his cooperation to achieve the goal. He also appreciated work done by Mistry in representing the issues and travelling throughout country.
