BDPA (India), District Srinagar Holds Monthly Meeting

Srinagar, 28th August 2026:
The monthly meeting of BDPA (India), District Srinagar was held on 28th August 2026 at the Srinagar Exchange Premises, with a good number of members attending and actively participating in the deliberations.

Tributes Paid to Departed Members

The meeting commenced with a condolence resolution on the sad demise of Late Shri G. M. Bhat, Ex-TT, and Late Shri Ram Krishen, Sr. OS, who passed away during the month.

Shri Haji Noor-u-Deen Rather, Circle President, and Shri Abdul Majid Malik, District Secretary, paid rich tributes to the departed colleagues and conveyed heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families. The members expressed their solidarity with the families in this hour of grief and prayed to Almighty God to grant eternal peace to the departed souls and strength and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss.

Organizational Issues Discussed

The meeting thereafter discussed several important organizational matters.

The latest position regarding Pension Revision was reviewed. The House resolved that the issue would continue to be pursued at appropriate levels in accordance with the directions and decisions of the CHQ.

The developments concerning the Finance Bill, 2025 were also discussed, and members were apprised of the organizational efforts being made in this regard.

A detailed discussion was held on the long-pending demand for opening a CCA Office/Branch at Srinagar. It was recalled that BDPA (India), District Srinagar, has been consistently pursuing this important demand since 2016 through correspondence, representations and approaches at various levels, including the Ministerial level. The House reiterated its determination to continue all possible efforts until the demand is finally resolved.

3rd PRC / Pension Revision Case

The House was also apprised of the latest position regarding the 3rd PRC/Pension Revision case. In accordance with the directions of CHQ, the District organization resolved to continue pursuing the matter at appropriate levels and extend full cooperation in all organizational efforts.

Appeal for Financial Support

The meeting also considered the financial requirements of the organization for carrying out its day-to-day activities at the District, Circle and CHQ levels.

All members, including those who could not attend the meeting, were requested to contribute an appropriate amount towards the organizational fund and remit the same to the Union’s bank account. The members were informed that their financial support would strengthen the organization and facilitate its smooth functioning.

The District Secretary was specifically requested to make a personal appeal to every member for extending financial support towards the organizational requirements.

The meeting concluded on a cordial note with a vote of thanks to the Chair.
