A new beginning-On 07.07.023, Secretary; GOI Ministry of Personnel, PG & Pensions Sh. V. Srinivas along with Addl. Secy. DOPPW Shri S.N Mathur and his team of officers came out of their offices to visit the BPS office to know all about the working of the Pensioners Federation & Associations. Eight Office Bearers including D.D. Mistry, GS BDPA (INDIA) were present. The first such event in the history of Pensioners Assns.

Shri S.C. Maheshwari, SG BPS accorded welcome to Shri V. Srinivas, Secretary (Pension), Joint Secretary. In the meeting eight office bearers of BPS were preset; D.D. Mistry GS BDPA was also there as Secretary BSNL/PSU.

Shri S.C. Maheshwari briefed him on multiple activities being carried out by the BPS and thanked him for the cooperation extended to BPS. He showed the equipment purchased from the Grant and also purchased by the BPS. He presented a book on latest Pensioners Rules published by the BPS and also a copy of monthly magazine BHART PENSIONER, June 2023 issue. While viewing the magazine, Secretary seen a letter published in the magazine written by GS BDPA (I) on non-supply of minutes by CCA; he spontaneously told the Jt. Secretary to take note of it. He said that magazine is only media through which your voice can be heard. Maheshwari also briefed him on need of more assistance to meet with expenditure. Other Office bearers were also spoke on their activities.

Thereafter, Secretary; GOI Ministry of Personnel, PG & Pensions Sh. V. Srinivas gave speech highlighting on the care, concern and multiple actions being taken to take care of the Pensioners. He also said that now a days DLC process have been simplified and pensioners are provided facility of home visit by the Banks.

Shri S.C. Maheshwari, SG BPS spoke on the expectations of the Pensioners from the Govt. and also disposal of quick disposal of pensioners grievances and implementation of various recommendations of the Parliamentary Committees and Supreme Court judgments favouring the pensioners.

Shri D.D. Mistry, GS BDPA (INDIA) & Secretary BSNL/PSU BPS made a fervent appeal to the Secretary to enlist BSNP Pensioners by the DOPPW and given the monetary assistance for maintenance of their offices at par with other Central Govt. Pensioners as BSNL Pensioners are given pension from Govt. consolidated fund and also extended all the facilities at par with C.G. Employees and given status of Govt. Pensioners. The Secretary assured to examine our request.

Other Office Bearers also spoke and requested to incorporate name of eligible family pensioners in the PPO to save them from running from pillar to post to prove that they are also eligible for F.P. after demise of Pensioner/spouse.

S/Shri M.R. Vasthit, Executive President & R.C. Sharma, treasure were also present in the meeting.

In the end, mango tree was also planted by the Secretary in the garden as part of implementation of Govt. to grow more three.
